CHICAGO (WGN) — Actor Jamie Foxx was recorded in public Sunday for the first time since he was hospitalized in April for a medical complication.Video from TMZ shows the Oscar winner on a luxury boat cruising down the Chicago River on Sunday afternoon. The video shows Foxx with members of his family, waving and smiling at other boats. It was a popular national monument, until it was robbed to extinction "Boat life," Foxx tweeted Sunday. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Gun safety advocates and families impacted by school shootings spoke at the Texas Capitol building Monday in conjunction with the Parkland High School Bus Tour in Austin.The parents of Joaquin "Guac" Oliver, a student killed in the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting, are driving a bus across the country, "to shed light on the dire effects of gun violence across the nation."Manuel and Patricia Oliver were joined by Texas Rep. Vikki Goodwin and families impacted by the Robb Elementary shooting in Uvalde and the 2018 Santa Fe High School shooting near Houston."Joaquin was shot four times. He suffered. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed his deputy chief of staff as the interim Attorney General of Texas. In a press release Monday, Abbott said Angela Colmenero will take over as interim Attorney General effective at 10 a.m., July 14. John Scott, the former Secretary of State appointed interim AG by Abbott in May, is leaving."John Scott faithfully executed his duties as the interim Attorney General of Texas, and I thank him for his leadership in stepping up to serve his fellow Texans in this role," Abbott said. Former Gophers basketball great Trevor Mbakwe is the new activities director at Tartan High School, the Oakdale school recently announced.Mbakwe, a St. Paul product, played for the U from 2010-13, and was twice named All-Big Ten by the coaches and media. After college, he went on to play professional basketball overseas from 2013-19 before returning home to pursue a career in athletic administration.The 34-year-old previously served as an assistant activities director at Irondale during the 2020-21 school year before spending the past two years working as an associate activities director at Eden Prairie. WILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office arrested Riley A. Macleod, 19, of Wilton, following a domestic dispute on June 8. Police say they received a 911 call from a woman reporting that she had attacked a family member with a knife at their home. The band's free concert for July 10 is moving to the Queensbury Hotel.The free show runs from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Queensbury Hotel, just across from its typical outdoor home of City Park. The show is one of several free concerts held by the Glens Falls City Band each summer. Upcoming dates include July 17 and 24. When the weather cooperates, shows are held at City Park Gazebo, near Crandall Public Library. Visitors should bring a blanket or lawn chair. SAUGERTIES, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Saugerties woman has been arrested following a trespassing incident, according to police. Meggin Cox, 59, is facing multiple charges. On July 6 at 4:52 p.m., police responded to a residence on Pine Grove School Road in Saugerties for the report of a trespass. Upon arrival, officers found that Cox had illegally entered the apartment of a former acquaintance and was refusing to leave. Police took Cox into custody and transported her to Saugerties Police Department HQ for processing on the charge of second-degree criminal trespass. While being processed, police say Cox struck an officer in the face, resulting in an additional charge of second-degree harassment. MALTA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police reports that one individual has passed away following the accident on I-87 southbound in Malta. A preliminary investigation determined that a woman had exited her vehicle, which was parked on the shoulder of the roadway, and intentionally entered the southbound lane of traffic. The individual was transported to the Saratoga Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The accident shut down I-87 southbound for approximately three hours. Investigations are ongoing.
