EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — If there is any image that should stick in the minds of the New York Giants after being thoroughly beaten by the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night it’s the sight of quarterback Daniel Jones being sacked 10 times.Every time, the $160 million quarterback went back to pass, there was a white shirt or two in his face forcing him to either run, get rid of the ball or hold it as he was sent repeatedly to the turf in the Seahawks’ 24-3 win at MetLife Stadium.Seattle tied a franchise record with 11 sacks but one of those was recorded against receiver Parris Campbell on a trick play where he was going to throw a pass.“I mean give credit to their defense,” Jones said after another inept performance by New York’s offense. “They rush hard and play well together, but I’ve got to do a better job getting through my reads, getting the ball out of my hand, and making quick decisions, so I’ll definitely look to work on that.”If there was one play Jones wo...Dos militares mueren y otros 12 quedan heridos al accidentarse su vehículo

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Gun Show is coming back to town after being turned away at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Gov. Gavin Newsom prohibited all gun shows on state property, sending gun show organizers searching for alternative venues. “The fairgrounds were the perfect venue for a gun show, it is exactly the type of venue we needed,” said Michael Schwartz from the San Diego County Gun Owners Pac. Now, the San Diego Gun Show has headed off the coast. “We are having to be creative and improvise. We are out at a Masonic Temple out in the east side of the city of San Diego, they’ve been very welcoming,” Schwartz said. MALE, Maldives (AP) — The president-elect of the Maldives said he will stick to his campaign promise to remove Indian military personnel stationed in the archipelago state, promising he would initiate the process. Mohamed Muiz told his supporters gathered Monday night at a celebration of his election victory that he wouldn’t stand for a foreign military staying in the Maldives against the will of its citizens.“The people have told us that they don’t want foreign military here,” he said. It’s a serious blow to India in its geopolitical rivalry with China in the India Ocean region, where the Maldives’ presidential runoff election Saturday was seen as a virtual referendum on which of the regional powers would have the biggest influence on the archipelago. Outgoing President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who was elected president in 2018, was battling allegations by Muiz that he had allowed India an unchecked presence in the country.
