AUSTIN (KXAN) — The latest outlook from the Climate Prediction Center shows increasingly likely odds of wetter weather for the month ahead. April rainfall outlook (CPC)The previous April outlook released mid-March suggested a wet April was possible and this latest outlook adds even more confidence for higher rainfall in Central Texas. Previous: Mid-March forecast for April April is typically not a wet month for Central Texas, it's actually our third driest month on average. In the 2010s, Ramsey County’s population grew by nearly 44,000 people, or 8.6 percent, its strongest growth since the 1960s.It took just two years of the coronavirus pandemic to wipe away one-third of that growth, according to Census Bureau estimates released this week.Like metro areas across the country, the capital city became less appealing at a time when density implied danger and many office workers were told to stay home.Hennepin County is down 21,400 residents since the pandemic, or 1.7 percent, according to Census Bureau estimates released this week. Ramsey’s net loss of 15,300 marks a 2.8 percent drop, worse than every county in the state except Kittson, in the northwest corner.“The pandemic isn’t over, and businesses are still readjusting in terms of where they have their employees working,” said Jolie Wood, Ramsey County’s deputy director of policy and planning. “I think it’s going to take some time for this churn to settle down.”Ramsey County between April 2020 and 2022 ...New Loon Sang Bin Jeong might make MLS debut Saturday in St. Louis

ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- Two watchdog groups are warning the public about where your tax dollars are going. The state proposed almost $15 billion set aside in the budget for what’s known as “lump sum” appropriation; these are pots of money the Governor and legislature decide how to spend at a later time.Rachel Fauss, Senior Policy Advisor for Reinvent Albany said the Governor and legislators would be able to distribute these funds without public accountability, "It doesn’t say who gets the money, where it goes, and it’s decided outside the regular budget process." Fauss said the Governor also has $8 billion in lump sums set aside for COVID emergencies which is not subject to the state comptroller. "But you know, the COVID emergency at least as declared by the state is over," explained Fauss. State budget will miss April 1 deadline She said the comptroller's ability to review contracts can be taken away through the state budget.
