LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Practical Move won’t run in the Kentucky Derby on Saturday because of an elevated temperature. Japanese horse Continuar also is out.The scratches were announced Thursday.Practical Move, the Santa Anita Derby winner, galloped in the morning and practiced standing in the starting gate. DENVER (KDVR) — Uber and Lyft drivers in Denver are rallying for better pay and safer working conditions.A few dozen drivers met outside Denver International Airport to call on the rideshare apps to pay them a more fair share.“They’re taking up to, like, 75% of our trip,” Erick Ametefe said. Ticket buyer bill steps from becoming law in Colorado Ametefe said he has been driving for both Uber and Lyft for almost eight years. “It was good so I switched to full-time, and everything has been good since then until now,” he said. According to Ametefe, after the pandemic, he noticed his profits were lower for the same amount of work he was doing previously. JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — Surveillance video appears to show someone wandering into the garage of a Jefferson County family's home and stealing their vehicle. Jeff Cline said the Ford SUV was stolen from his garage late Friday night. The garage door was open at the time.The video captures the quick theft before the person backs out of the garage and drives off. "If it can happen to us, it can happen to anybody," he said. Caught on camera: ‘Road rage’ shooting in Denver Cline said the thief eventually abandoned the Ford before stealing another car and eventually getting arrested. Cline believes two people may actually be part of the theft ring. "Every time I come out of my house, I think about it," he said. "Every time I see my garage or see my car, or anything, I see his face." A spokesperson with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the Clines are one of a "series of victims" both on Friday and Saturday, adding that a suspect is in custody. A boy was airlifted to the hospital after, officials said, he was struck by an SUV while riding his bicycle and pinned underneath the vehicle in North Lauderdale.According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred along the 1800 block of Southwest 63rd Terrace, a short walk from Broadview Elementary School, Thursday afternoon. Officials said the boy was struck while crossing the street and was hit by a car. He ended up pinned under the vehicle. Cellphone video that circulated through the neighborhood showed the efforts to save the boy. “Everyone was pointing down, I get out the car and see and hear a kid crying, and I see a bike tangled up in his legs,” said area resident Charissa Vasquez.
