SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- At the mid-way point of the year, the San Francisco Police Department has already seized more fentanyl from street-level dealers than in all of 2022, according to Supervisor Matt Dorsey. In a tweet thread citing narcotics stats from the SFPD Tenderloin Station, Dorsey posted a graphic illustrating that in the first two quarters of 2023, seizures in SFPD's Tenderloin District totaled 68.52 kilos (151 pounds). SEATTLE (AP) — A 26-year-old member of the U.S. military accused of fatally shooting two women and wounding three other people at a music festival at Washington state’s Gorge Amphitheatre has entered not guilty pleas to multiple charges. Kelly pleaded not guilty Wednesday to two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and one count of first-degree domestic violence assault in the shooting at the Beyond Wonderland electronic dance music festival, according to Grant County Superior Court documents. Seattle couple Brandy Escamilla and Josilyn Ruiz died in the June 17 shooting. A public defender was assigned to Kelly, whose next court appearance is set for July 25. DENVER (KDVR) — An increase in tick diseases that aren’t typically found in Colorado is concerning doctors at American Family Care.Some call it a triple tick threat that includes a rare illness that just killed a man in Maine.With all this wet weather in the metro area, doctors said that tick diseases that are not typically in Colorado are finding their way here and could be deadly. There are three diseases that experts said you should be looking out for, Lyme disease, Powassan virus and babesiosis. “Now, those three traditionally are not even located here in Colorado. They're located in other parts of the country.
