DENVER (KDVR) — Thursday was a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day as thunderstorms moved across the Front Range in the Denver weather forecast. Some storms were strong to severe, bringing hail and wind, lightning and heavy rain.A severe thunderstorm watch was issued across northeast Colorado, including the Denver metro area, until 10 p.m. The watch included Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Elbert, Jefferson, Larimer, Lincoln, Logan, Morgan, Washington and Weld counties.Possible thunderstorm threats from Pinpoint WeatherWeather tonight: Showers could continue lateThe chance for showers and thunderstorms could linger until midnight along the Front Range and in metro Denver. LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) -- A Wheat Ridge man is thankful to be alive after falling into Clear Creek west of Golden on Tuesday. Jim Collins shared the ordeal with FOX31's Evan Kruegel Wednesday, hoping for a chance to say thank you to two boaters who pulled him from the creek."I am so thankful and so lucky," Collins said. DENVER (KDVR) -- A second state park's swimming areas in metro Denver have been closed due to higher levels of E. coli detected in the water, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said in a release Thursday. Chatfield State Park's swim beach has been temporarily closed after tests showed elevated levels of E. coli in the water, CPW said. The levels registered unsafe bacteria levels above the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment requirements. High E. coli levels close Cherry Creek swim area Signage has been put up around the park informing visitors of the closure but boating access and hand-launched vessels are not restricted, CPW said. Cherry Creek State Park swim areas were also temporarily closed Thursday after routine tests showed elevated levels of E. coli in its waters. A mother and daughter who live in an apartment complex in Fort Lauderdale where, police said, a shooting involving minors took place, said bullets came into their unit, as detectives continue their search for the people responsible.Speaking with 7News on Thursday, the 42-year-old mother showed 7News the bullet holes in her front door, window, and concrete wall of her unit, where she’s lived for 20 years.“It went through my door, through the outside to the door jamb, and I guess the bullet is inside,” she said. “When it was all said and done, it was over 40 rounds.”According to Fort Lauderdale Police, Wednesday night’s shooting left five people injured. (WSVN) — It took a team effort to save a manatee stranded on a Florida beach.More than a dozen people put in the back-breaking work to carry the sea cow to a truck in Ponce Inlet, near Daytona Beach, Wednesday afternoon.Body camera video from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office captured rescuers as they carried the marine mammal into the back of the truck.It was no easy feat. SEATTLE (AP) — A passenger aboard an Alaska Airlines flight from Atlanta to Seattle Wednesday is accused of making a bomb threat that caused pilots to land the plane in Spokane, Washington. Documents filed in U.S. District Court said Brandon Scott, 38, faces a false information and hoaxes charge, The Seattle Times reported. After the plane took off Wednesday afternoon, Scott handed a flight attendant a note saying he had “several pounds” of homemade explosives in his carry-on and a detonator on him, the court documents alleged.Scott’s note demanded the plane be rerouted to “any other airport” and threatened to kill everyone on the plane if it landed in Seattle.
