The Temecula Valley Unified School Board is considering a policy that would notify parents if their child identifies as transgender.A crowded and contentious meeting was held Tuesday night with large groups of people supporting both sides of the issue. (FOX40.COM) -- A California woman has been identified among the victims of the West Maui Wildfire that began on Aug. 8, according to the Maui Police Department. Theresa Cook, 72, was among eight people identified by the Maui Police Department on Tuesday to have died in the devastating fire. One Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Collision near Hubbart StreetSAN FERNANDO, CA (August 21, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, one victim was killed in a semi-truck accident on 210 Freeway.The incident occurred around 3:58 a.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway near Hubbard Street.For reasons under investigation, the driver of a vehicle struck the back of a semi-truck. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one victim dead at the scene.At this time, authorities have not yet identified the deceased victim.Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.The San Fernando officials continue to investigate the circumstances that led up to the incident. A California man who went missing on a Sierra Nevada backpacking trip was found dead, apparently having fallen on a rocky slope.Stephen Bloor, 57, of Santa Ana, was reported missing by his wife, who became concerned when his GPS tracking device remained in one place for hours, the Mono County sheriff’s office said.Bloor had set out on the morning of Friday, Aug. 18, from Devils Postpile, near Mammoth Lakes, on what was intended to be a solo hike to the Lake Tahoe area, about 180 miles.
