SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Folk and Americana singer Josh Ritter is set to perform two shows at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs. Ritter, a native of Moscow, Idaho, has released 11 studio albums. His most recent, "Spectral Lines," was released on April 28 of this year. His albums "So Runs the World Away" and "Sermon on the Rocks" reached number one on the U.S. Folk charts when they were released. Ritter is also known for performing lead vocals and guitar for "The Royal City Band." PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) -- The Pittsfield Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Parker Street around 3:05 a.m. on Tuesday. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. Firefighters say the homeowners reported they awoke to smoke detectors sounding with heavy smoke in the attic. Engines two, three, five, tower one, and car two responded. Firefighters say the smoke stemmed from an electrical box, located in the insulation between the attic and second floor. The fire was quickly brought under control and put out. ST. LOUIS - Missouri Gov. Mike Parson on Monday declined clemency for a man who faces execution Tuesday evening for killing two jailers in an ill-fated effort to free someone else from a county jail.Michael Tisius, 42, would be the third person in Missouri, and the 12th person nationally, to be executed in 2023. He's accused of killing officers Leon Egley and Jason Acton in June 2000.“It’s despicable that two dedicated public servants were murdered in a failed attempt to help another criminal evade the law,” Parson, a Republican, said in a statement. "The state of Missouri will carry out Mr. Tisius’s sentences according to the Court’s order and deliver justice.”Tisius has at least one pending court appeal. His appeals and his clemency request have focused on several issues. LOUIS - One of the Mizzou fraternity members who was involved in a hazing incident that severely disabled another student is being sentenced Tuesday.Alec Wetzler pleaded guilty to giving liquor to a minor and buying liquor as a minor - both misdemeanors. Prosecutors said he was one of the members of phi Gamma Delta who ordered freshman Danny Santulli to drink an entire liter of vodka through a tube. Santulli became unresponsive.
