Jury returns guilty verdict in Klein trial

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Jacob Klein has been found guilty of second-degree murder after a trial. Klein represented himself in court, defending himself from accusations he killed Philip Rabadi in April 2022, just months after Rabadi married Klein’s former girlfriend, Elana Radin. Sentencing is scheduled for December 8 at 9:30 a.m. The judge ordered a pre-sentencing investigation report prior to sentencing. Klein is remanded until sentencing.Closing statements finished on October 3 and the jury started deliberating immediately. The previous day, Radin had taken the stand. Prosecutors asked her about the day Rabadi was killed. Klein cross-examined Radin and asked questions about how often they had been in contact since they had broken up. (NEWS10) - Every December, Main Street in the village of Granville closes down to traffic for an evening so farmers and workers from across the rural region can come to town with equipment decorated into the nines. Registration opens this week for the 6th annual Lighted Tractor Parade in Granville - and there's a special prize for the first one to make it through the door.This year's tractor parade is set for Saturday, Dec. 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in downtown Granville Registration for the parade opens this Friday, Oct. 6, priced at $12.51 per entrant, with proceeds benefitting the parade as a whole. Missouri man among two killed in Alaska military vehicle accident

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Officials say two U.S. Army soldiers were killed Monday after a military transport vehicle flipped on a dirt road leading to a training area in Alaska. One of the two soldiers who died had Missouri roots. Spc. Brian Joshua Snowden, 22, and Spc. Jeremy Daniel Evans, 23, died in the crash, which also injured 12 others. Snowden is a native of Lonedell, Missouri, joined the Army in July 2020 and after training at Fort Moore, Georgia, arrived in Alaska in March 2021. Teen sentenced to 7 years in prison for deadly Lakewood arson

One of the two teenagers convicted of murder in a deadly Halloween 2022 apartment fire has been sentenced to seven years.Lakewood police in November 2022 arrested a 14-year-old and a 12-year-old in the fire that killed 31-year-old Kathleen Payton and her 10-year-old daughter Jazmine Payton-Aguayo, injured ten other people and displaced everyone in the 32 units of the Ashley Square Apartments, 935 Sheridan Blvd.The 14-year-old, now 15, pleaded guilty in July to two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree arson and assault charges.He was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in the Colorado Department of Human Services Division of Youth Service with 113 days of pre-sentence confinement credit, according to a news release from the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office.The other teen has a status hearing Oct. 16.
