ST. LOUIS - One man has died and others are possibly hurt after a shooting Friday afternoon in north St. Louis.The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to 5000 block of Thrush Avenue in the Walnut Park East neighborhood just after the noon hour to investigate the shooting. Top Stories: Severe weather expected near St. Louis Friday Officers found one man unconscious inside a vehicle who had suffered a gunshot wound to his stomach. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but died from his injuries. A SLMPD spokesperson initially reported the shooting is one "possibly involving multiple victims," though has not disclosed how many others might be hurt. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A man convicted of killing five people in north St. Louis County in 2019 has been sentenced to life in prison. Terrance Wesley, 32, was handed a life sentence, plus 10 years, in a quintuple murder case from July 6, 2019. He pled guilty last year to criminal charges in the deaths of Derrick Perry, James Penny, Ronald Brewster, Rondall Mullin and Rodney Holt. On Friday morning, CADA announced that it was “parting ways” with Jackson and that it had appointed Matthew Groves, vice president of legal, regulatory & compliance, as interim CEO effective immediately. The 10 Freeway is shut down in both directions in East Los Angeles after a pursuit ended in a police shooting Friday morning.The incident was reported around 10:50 a.m. on the eastbound side of the highway near the Eastern Avenue off-ramp and the southbound 710 Freeway transition, according to the California Highway Patrol.Monterey Park police were chasing a driver when the pursuit ended in an officer-involved shooting, though it is unknown if anyone was injured.The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the incident to assist in the investigation.A SigAlert was ordered in the area, closing both sides of the freeway.Aerial video from Sky5 showed multiple police vehicles on the empty highway in the area, but traffic backed up for miles.No further details about the incident have been released.
