AUSTIN (KXAN) — With Garrett Foster's family sitting front row in the Travis County Courthouse on Tuesday morning, Daniel Perry entered a not-guilty plea. Perry is an Army sergeant, who was stationed at Fort Hood in 2020. He admitted to shooting and killing Foster in the streets of downtown Austin on July 25, 2020, during a Black Lives Matter protest. Hays County Commissioners on Tuesday approved a deal with Austin Pets Alive!. APA! will act as the project coordinator for a Pet Resource Center in Hays County.According to an announcement from Hays County Commissioners, APA! will help in the creation, development, operation and management of the Pet Resource Center, field services and a veterinary clinic. A Tuesday night fire tore through a commercial outbuilding near the St. Paul Downtown Airport into early Wednesday.St. Paul Fire crews were sent to Semple Excavating at 91 Ridder Circle around 11:30 p.m. and began defensive operations because the blaze was already through the roof of the building, said Deputy Fire Chief Roy Mokosso.Water supply was difficult, Mokosso said. Crews laid down 2,000 feet of supply lines, and Maplewood fire arrived with its 2,000-gallon water truck.Railroad managers shut down several tracks.Mokosso said the fire was brought under control with the help of the building owner, who used heavy equipment to pull smoldering debris from the building. Gophers defensive lineman Trey Bixby has decided to medically retire from football, a source told the Pioneer Press on Wednesday.Bixby, a top-rated recruit in the Gophers’ 2022 class, redshirted last season but wasn’t on the roster for the Pinstripe Bowl in December and has not returned for spring practices this month.In 2020, Bixby had treatments for an illness which made him autoimmune, and with the pandemic, forced him to sit out and loose weight from roughly 240 pounds to under 200. Through the issues, the Gophers honored the four-star prospect’s commitment and Bixby signed with the U in December 2021.Bixby played at St. Edwards High School in Lakewood, Ohio, as a sophomore. Rodriguez was sentenced to 57 months in prison on March 29 for his role in building skimming devices designed to steal gas station customer information. The U.S. Attorney's Office reports Rodriguez admitted that between April 2016 and July 2019, he conspired with others to commit access device fraud conspiracy by building skimming devices designed to steal gas station customer information. They would then use the collected information to create fraudulent credit and debit cards. COPAKE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Copake man was arrested after calling 911 and reporting he shot at a car of someone he believed was trespassing, according to deputies.
