ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -Migrants who have come to the Capital Region are being helped by the Afghan American Community Center. One bus made over ten trips back and forth from a nearby hotel to bring asylum seekers and refugees in for a warm meal. President of the AACC, Mohammed Zamani, says he and his brothers wanted to spread kindness from one immigrant to another. “When I talked to my board members, I said ‘Lest we do something good for these immigrants. We are immigrants too in this country,’” said Zamani.Zamani and his AACC family work to help immigrants adjust to life in the United States. He says the first part of the process is to give them a chance to rest. “These people, they left their home. They’ve travelled, they’re tired. To say in a hotel and they don’t have anybody here, I’m sure they wish to have a hot meal," described Zamani. Five people were treated for injuries Saturday evening as a result of an apartment fire in Aurora, fire officials said.Firefighters were able to stop the spread of the fire, which was in the second and third stories of the Park Place at Exposition residential building.One person was hurt seriously, and two others also were transported to a hospital, according to Aurora Fire Rescue. Two people with minor injuries were treated at the scene and released.The Red Cross was assisting because people in as many as 60 units in the complex on Exposition, a block east of Havana, may have been displaced by the two-alarm fire.Colorado Mammoth’s bid for repeat title slips away in loss to Buffalo Bandits

The Colorado Mammoth took their NLL title defense as far as they could.But with the NLL championship on the line in a winner-take-all Game 3 in Buffalo on Saturday night, the Mammoth didn’t have the offense to finish the job.Buffalo goaltender Adam Vinc and the Bandits defense shut down a red-hot Mammoth attack that burned them for 16 goals in a series-extending Game 2 win at Ball Arena, and the Bandits ran away with a decisive 13-4 victory to avenge last year’s NLL Finals loss to Colorado.Josh Byrne netted a hat trick less than four minutes into the third quarter to give the Bandits a 6-2 lead, which was plenty of cushion for the disciplined Buffalo defense.Buffalo outshot Colorado by a 60-50 margin, with Mammoth goalkeeper Dillon Ward (47 saves) unable to withstand the onslaught as the Bandits netted nine goals in the second half. (KRON) -- Multiple people were injured after a police chase led to a Saturday overnight collision in Danville, authorities said. The chase began around 1 a.m. Saturday when the suspect car ran a red light, and a Danville police officer tried to pull the car over.The suspect vehicle ran a red light, crashed into another car, rolled over on its roof and caught fire. The collision happened in the area of the intersection of Camino Tassajara and Crow Canyon Road. Fight ends in shooting near San Francisco nightclub The driver of the suspect vehicle suffered "major" injuries, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department. Five occupants from the suspect vehicles were rescued and taken to the hospital. OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Kathryn Sandercock was strong in relief, and No. 3 seed Florida State held on to beat No. 7 Washington 3-1 on Saturday night and clinch a spot in the Women’s College World Series semifinals.Sandercock allowed one run on six hits in 5 2/3 innings to claim the win.Devyn Flaherty had two hits and scored twice for the Seminoles (57-9), who will play the winner of Sunday’s Tennessee-Oklahoma State game on Monday.
