(KTLA) – A new social media challenge, which has people putting buckets on the heads of strangers and filming their reactions, went horribly wrong when a woman in California fainted after a group of young men unexpectedly targeted her for the prank. The incident happened Sunday afternoon at a Target store in Tustin. Lana Clay-Monaghan, a new mom of twin boys, said she was shopping for baby supplies when she was caught completely off guard by four teenage boys who tossed a bucket over her head while recording a video. They eventually ran out of the store. “I was looking at some baby soap. I leaned down and my whole world changed,” Clay-Monaghan said. “Everything went quiet, dark and there was really no air. I flipped off what was put over me, around my neck, and I turned around and looked over my left shoulder. To my dismay, it was a group of individuals who were filming me, seemingly for some sort of prank or maybe for something like TikTok.” A 30-year cancer...Musk says Twitter now worth $20 billion, less than half what he paid for it

Two young male lions born at the Denver Zoo, now kicked out of their group, will be transferred to separate other zoos as part of a species survival plan, officials announced this week. It’s unclear where these two lions – two-year-old Oskar and three-year-old Tatu – will be sent. They’ll be moved early in April to facilities accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums where they’ll be located with females, Denver Zoo officials said in a Facebook posting. In the wild, male lions typically would leave their birth groups around age two, when they’re big enough to compete with dominant males. Younger males often formed small groups before establishing their own prides. Last year at the Denver Zoo, the elder lion named Tobias, the father of Tatu and Oskar, pushed them out of their family pride. The two “have been enjoying each other’s company,” zoo officials said in their posting, “and now it’s time for them to start their own families.”Under species survival plans, ...Letters: Banning abortion pills — Wyoming endangers essential medical care

Wyoming endangers essential medical careRe: “Governor signs measure banning abortion pills,” March 19 news storyWyoming’s Gov. Any law that creates hesitancy for doctors to uphold the standard of care for a patient represents a degradation of that care. One consequence of the law is that women may delay or avoid s...Latest news
