DENVER (KDVR) — Denver Police said two people were shot along Interstate 70 early Friday morning. The shooting took place just east of Quebec Street.The victims were taken to a local hospital in unknown conditions.Police shut down the eastbound lanes of the interstate for several hours while they investigated. The roadway was reopened at 4:30 a.m. Denver police safety plan for mega event weekend Investigators are still working to develop suspect information.Second shooting on I-70 in 10 daysThis shooting comes just 10 days after a deadly shooting took place along the same highway.A 32-year-old man driving a motorcycle was shot and killed early on the morning of the Fourth of July. He was shot in the head while driving eastbound near Colorado Boulevard. Police have arrested two men in connection to that shooting. Investigators believe the suspects fired the shots from a pickup truck.Both men are facing first-degree murder charges.

Beaver that attacked girl on Lake Lanier had rabies, Hall County officials say

LAKE LANIER, Georgia (WANF) — A beaver that was killed after biting a young girl at Lake Lanier tested positive for rabies, Hall County officials told Atlanta News First.The beaver reportedly bit the girl Saturday, at which point it was killed by the girl’s father. Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) was contacted about the incident and the investigation was turned over to the Hall County Animal Control.Georgia DNR said there was no evidence of baby beavers in the area.Two people also recently came into contact with a rabid beaver in the Sardis area of Gainesville, according to the Facebook post. The beaver was then shipped to the Georgia Public Health Lab Virology Section in Decatur.Officials are posting positive alert signs in the area where the beaver was found.

BRUSSELS — Barend Leyts, spokesperson for European Council President Charles Michel, is leaving his job, according to an EU official.Leyts is departing to become director of communication for Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo as soon as his replacement is found, said the same official, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the topic.Leyts started working for Michel in October 2014, becoming the politician’s Dutch-language spokesperson just as he became Belgian prime minister. (CNN) — A report by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner states Lisa Marie Presley’s death in January was caused by a “sequelae of a small bowel obstruction.”A small bowel obstruction is a blockage in the small intestine, often because of things like scar tissue, a hernia or cancer. Without surgery, it can cause bowel tissue to die or perforate, leading to death.Presley’s autopsy report, obtained by CNN on Thursday, included the official opinion of deputy medical examiner Dr. Juan M. Carrillo, who attributed her small bowel obstruction to “adhesions (or, scar tissue) that developed after bariatric surgery years ago.
