ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Police announced they are attempting to locate a woman missing out of Albany. Alexandra McGuinness, 42, was last seen on June 28 in the area of Grove Avenue and Helderberg Avenue. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! A shooting at a beach party in Santa Monica injured two teenage girls on Friday night. According to the Santa Monica Police Department, officers responded to a “large party” in what they called the 2700 block of the Santa Monica beach. “At about 9:22 p.m., as [officers] were approaching, [they] heard multiple gunshots and the group scattered, including the shooter,” SMPD said in a statement. The victims, identified as 14- and 17-year-old girls, were transported to a local hospital by Santa Monica Fire Department. Their wounds are said to be non-life-threatening. “The victims did not see who fired the weapon or which direction the person fled,” police said. The suspect was described as a Black male who stands roughly 5 feet, 10 inches tall. A computer system failure Saturday morning has again forced dispatchers in Oakland’s high-volume 911 center to take down callers’ information with pen and paper, slowing the city’s ability to respond to emergencies.The system, which police officers rely upon to communicate with dispatchers, had been down for about 26 hours this week until it was temporarily restored early Friday evening. But as of around 9:10 a.m. Saturday, city officials said they had again “observed impacts” to the system.“All dispatch staff have resumed manual call routing,” the city said in a statement. “As a result, routing for calls is currently slower than normal. Many of the Bay Area’s lowest-paid workers are receiving a pay bump this month as several cities increase their local minimum wage.While the wage hikes are welcomed by labor advocates who say low-income workers are being squeezed to the breaking point, they add that it’s not nearly enough to address the region’s affordability crisis.In Fremont, with 223,000 people, the minimum wage rose July 1 from $16 to $16.80, a 5% increase meant to keep up with higher prices for rent, food and other goods and services.
