Milpitas Unified School District seeks volunteers for parcel tax oversight Parcel tax oversight soughtThe Milpitas Unified School District is seeking volunteers to serve on its Parcel Tax Oversight Committee. The committee will review Measure E expenditures to ensure that the funds are spent for the purposes approved by the voters and will report annually on these expenditures to the district’s board and the community. Measure E is an eight-year, $84-a-year parcel tax extension.Volunteers needed for the five-member committee include a parent or guardian of a student in the district and members of the business community and the Milpitas community at large. Committee members will serve a two- or three-year term with the exception of business representative, members must be registered voters within the Milpitas Unified School District. 5 injured in 3 vehicle crash in Aurora Saturday DENVER (KDVR) -- One person suffered life-threatening injuries after a three-vehicle crash in Aurora late Saturday night, according to Aurora Fire Rescue. Four others were also injured.AFR responded to the crash near the intersection of Illiff Avenue and Chambers Road around 11:40 p.m.Crews found three vehicles were involved, with two people trapped. One of the two that were extricated suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital via ambulance.Four others were taken to local hospitals with non-serious injuries, AFR said. Aurora Police were investigating the crash.

Investigation continues after male body found in Miami Gardens canal Miami Gardens Police continue an investigation after someone noticed a dead body in a canal Sunday morning. The call came in at approximately 7:13 a.m. when a passerby saw a male body down in the canal unconscious and not breathing along the 2700 Block of Northwest 206th Street.
